Animal, Dog, Cat, Pet Rescue Groups for Orange County, CA

dog and cat Animal rescue groups focus on saving lives from the county shelters and finding appropriate homes for animals. Rescue groups are run by volunteers, donation and big hearts. It should be noted that when an animal is adopted from a rescue group, the group is not profiting from the adoption. Most times, even with kittens, the rescue group is losing money. Their focus is not on the money you will pay for the pet, it is on making that perfect match between pet and owner that will last a lifetime. All groups charge a fee for the animal, and the fee is usually tax-deductable.

Many groups have applications to fill-out and a process that you will have to follow to adopt a pet. Be patient with the group as many are understaffed and have more animals than they have homes for at any one time. Remember, the animal you adopt today will be your companion for their lifetime.

If you are looking for a rescue group to relinquish an animal, if you adopted the animal from a rescue group, start with them. Most groups have it in the contract you agreed to that if you are unable to maintain care for the animal you must return it to them. They will ask you why you are interested in returning the animal to see if maybe a behavioral problem can be solved that would better the situation. Please be patient with the group and work to provide them with all of the information they need. It's in the animals best interest to do so.

New Beginnings for Animals
Located in the Mission Viejo / Aliso Viejo area of Orange County, we are a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to rescuing animals from shelters. We give the rescued animal appropriate immunizations, alter them as necessary, validate their temperament and socialization abilities and make them available for adoption. Our goal is to save an animal from euthanasia and to place it in a new, loving home which will be a beneficial, nurturing, and symbiotic environment for both the saved pet and its new owners.

We rescue and adopt out dogs, both large and small, puppies, cats, and kittens.

    Loving Grace Rescue
Is a small rescue group located in Southern California; Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Our rescue has no more than a few dogs (and a cat here and there) at any given time. We are committed to remaining a small rescue so we can give each of our rescues the personal attention he or she needs and deserves. Our mission is to rescue those who are destined to die the day we enter the shelter. They literally have just hours to live. We take these animals, whose future consists of walking down that long, lonely hallway to the end of its life, and just by removing the animal from that situation and giving him or her a chance to shine, we are able to find amazing, loving homes.

Critters in Need Pet Rescue, Inc.
We are a group of volunteers in southern California, primarily in Los Angeles and Orange counties dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned animals. We care for strays, unwanted animals, victims of abuse, and have received many from animal shelters across California. At the present time we do not have a facility of our own, so we rely solely on the good will of foster families who care for them until they can be placed in permanent homes. We are always in need of volunteers to assist in showing the animals on weekends and especially to foster pets until they are adopted.
